In reading the fable about change, the eight step process of successful change, according to Kotter are:
1. Set the stage by creating a sense of urgency, the importance of acting quickly and pulling a team together (powerful group-leadership skills, credibility, communication ability, authority, analytical skills, sense of urgency)
2. Decide what to do by developing the Change Vision and Strategy. How will the future be different from the past, how can you make that future a reality
3. Make it happen by communicating for understanding and buy in ( as many as possible accept the vision and strategy), empower others to act ( remove barriers), produce a short-term win (visible success), don’t let up ( press hard and fast after the first success).
4. Make it stick by creating a new culture.
